The Douglas A-20G Havoc was a versatile American light bomber and attack aircraft widely used during World War II. Powered by two Wright R-2600 Twin Cyclone engines, the A-20G could reach speeds up to 317 mph and operate at medium altitudes with a combat range of around 1,025 miles. The "G" variant featured a solid nose equipped with multiple forward-firing machine guns, enhancing its ground-attack capabilities. It was heavily armed with up to 12 .50 caliber machine guns and could carry bombs or rockets, making it effective against enemy ground targets and shipping. The A-20G served in multiple theaters, including the Pacific, Europe, and North Africa, performing bombing, strafing, and reconnaissance missions. Its rugged construction, speed, and firepower made it popular among crews. The Havoc was a key asset for Allied tactical air operations and contributed significantly to close air support and interdiction efforts during the war.
