Shop naval warship model kits at Historic Aviation, with a wide lineup from Trumpeter, Atlantis Models, and more covering aircraft carriers, submarines, and destroyers. Scales here run smaller than our other kit collections to keep a full-size carrier or battleship a manageable build.

Why Build Naval Warship Kits?

A scale-accurate warship demands a much smaller scale than a vehicle or aircraft kit — a real aircraft carrier stretches over 1,000 feet, so even at small scales the finished model is still a substantial centerpiece build. Manufacturers like Trumpeter and Atlantis Models specialize in named, documented vessels rather than generic ship shapes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are warship kits built to such small scales?
Real warships are enormous — a modern aircraft carrier runs over 1,000 feet long — so small scales are necessary to keep a finished model a displayable size.

Are these based on specific, named vessels?
Yes — manufacturers like Trumpeter and Atlantis Models typically model documented, named ships rather than generic warship silhouettes.

What's the difference between this collection and your pre-built diecast warships?
These are unassembled plastic kits you build and paint yourself; our diecast Warship Models collection is fully built and finished, ready to display without assembly.
