Ranking among the largest aircraft ever built, the Boeing 314 — of which only 12 were built from 1938-41 — was a flying boat in service primarily with Pan American Airlines. Nicknamed the "Clipper," Pan Am gave specific monikers to their planes, including the "Dixie Clipper" which took President Roosevelt to the Casablanca Conference in 1943.
