Because of its lasting impact on the airline industry and extensive use in World War II, the Douglas DC-3 — known as the C-47 Skytain in military service, whose speed and range revolutionized air transport in the 1930s and 1940s — was one of the most significant aircraft ever made. This 1/200 scale, Hobby Master, die cast model is a reproduction of a C-47 nicknamed "Betsy's Biscuit Bomber," a plane flown by the 9th Air Force during the war and restored to airworthy status in the summer of 2009. It features simulated cockpit and cabin windows, rotating propellers, optional-position landing gear, and a display stand. Measures approximately 3¾" long with a 5¾" wingspan.
