The E-2C Hawkeye, designed as a replacement for the E-1 Tracer, is an all-weather tactical Airborne Early Warning aircraft capable of carrying a large rotating dome that holds antennae for long-range radars. Used mainly by the U.S. Navy, this variant detects Allied aircraft attacks. It's one of only two propeller airplanes that operates from carriers, and is still undergoing upgrades. This 1/145 scale, die cast replica of an E-2C as it appeared in the USN VAW-116 "Sun Kings", USS Kitty Hawk features realistic panel lines and a display stand. 6¾" wingspan.
