The E-2 Hawkeye was developed in the late 1950s and early 60s for the U.S. Navy as a twin-turboprop aircraft before it was turned into an all-weather airborne early warning jet. This specific variant was part of the VAW-122, also named the Hummer Gators, established on April 1 of 1967. The squadron spent nine months aboard the USS America and was the first East Coast E-2 group assigned to support Middle East operations and drug interdiction elsewhere. On July 8, 1991 the USS Forrestal E-2C 161343 AE-601 was lost to an onboard fire after a catapult shot.

This 1/72 scale, die cast model is a Hobby Master replica of a E-2C Hawkeye from the VAW-122 "Steel Jaws" of USS Forrestal on 1991, featuring authentic markings and paint scheme, engraved panel lines, a rotating propeller, a well-equipped cockpit, and a display stand. Measures 9½" long with a 13½" wingspan.
