The Convair F-102 Delta Dagger was the first operational supersonic interceptor and delta-wing fighter used by the United States Air Force (USAF). Designed to intercept Soviet strategic bombers during the Cold War, it featured an internal weapons bay for guided missiles and rockets. With a Pratt & Whitney J57 engine producing 16,000 lbs. of thrust, it reached a maximum speed of 810 mph and had a range of 1,000 miles. A total of 1,000 F-102s were built, serving both the USAF and export customers like Greece and Turkey
