About the M4A3E8 Sherman
The M4A3E8, nicknamed the "Easy Eight," was a late-war variant of the M4 Sherman fitted with horizontal volute spring suspension (HVSS) for a wider track and smoother ride, along with a higher-velocity 76mm gun. It served in the final campaigns of World War II and remained in U.S. service through the Korean War.
