The MiG-29 also known by its NATO reporting name Fulcrum is a fourth-generation twin-engine multi-role fighter aircraft developed by the Soviet Union in the 1970s. Designed for air superiority the MiG-29 is renowned for its agility high speed and impressive maneuverability making it a formidable opponent in aerial combat. It is equipped with advanced radar infrared targeting systems and a wide array of weaponry including air-to-air missiles bombs and a 30mm cannon. The MiG-29 can operate from short and unprepared airstrips giving it great operational flexibility. It entered service in 1983 and quickly became a key asset for the Soviet Air Force with numerous countries adopting it after the fall of the USSR. Over the years the MiG-29 has undergone various upgrades to enhance its combat capabilities.
