About the Royal Deux-Ponts
Raised in the Duchy of Zweibrucken and commanded under the Comte de Rochambeau, the regiment sailed for America in 1780 as one of four regiments in the French expeditionary force. It distinguished itself at the storming of Redoubt No. 9 during the Siege of Yorktown in October 1781, before returning to France in 1783.
