On August 25, 1942, the SBD-3 "Black 16" aboard the USS Wasp (CV-7) was flown by two pilots at different times that day. During the morning, Lt. Chester V. Zalewski shot down two Aichi E13A "Jake" floatplanes and, in the afternoon, Lt. Morris R. Doughty downed a Kawanishi H8K "Emily." This Dauntless wears three red stars, marking the Japanese aircraft taken out on one day.

This 1/32 scale, Hobby Master, die cast replica of a SBD Dauntless, as it appeared as "Black 16" of Scouting 71, features authentic markings and professional hand-painted details, a movable rear gun, working dive brakes, rudder and ailerons, optional transparent engine cowling, a rotating metal propeller, optional-position landing gear, a movable centerline bomb rack, and a display stand. 15½" wingspan.
