In 1940, the Soviet Union was losing the technology war to the Germans as their current tanks were being ripped apart on the battlefield. In an effort to gain an advantage, Stalin ordered competing tank designs for the new military contract, including the KV-1, which had armor that was impenetrable to anti-tank weapons of the time. The only problem was that the prototype was built 800 miles from Moscow and could not be shipped by train. This film follows the crew of the first KV-1 as they drive the new tank cross-country over war-torn Russian landscape, racing to make the production deadline in Moscow while avoiding destruction at the hands of the German army desperate to stop them! 1 hr. 35 min.
