In service around the world for nearly fifty years, the F-104 Starfighter — introduced in 1958 — was a single-engine interceptor originally used by the United States Air Force. The Starfighter saw service during the Vietnam War, and, though it saw very little aerial combat action, it successfully deterred MiG interceptors. The aircraft did, however, have a poor safety record and many aviators — famously including legendary pilot Erich Hartmann — refused to fly it. The F-104 was retired in 2004.

A Hobby Master reproduction of a TF-104G — a two-seat trainer variant — serving with the Turkish Air Force, this 1/72 scale, die cast model features engraved panel lines, glazed opening canopies, well-equipped cockpits, two removable crew figures, a pitot tube, a detailed engine nozzle, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a metal display stand. Measures approximately 9¼" long with a 3¾" wingspan.
