Flying in nearly every theater of combat during World War II for numerous Allied nations, the B-24 Liberator was the most produced heavy bomber in history with more than 19,000 units manufactured, beginning in 1941. It was perhaps the most influential American bomber of the entire war and was not officially retired until 1968.
