About Big Boy
Shortly after World War II, Dave Frisch visited one of Bob Wian's original Big Boy restaurants in California and was impressed by its double-deck hamburger. Wian later offered Frisch a licensing deal of $1 per year for a four-state territory covering the Cincinnati tri-state region of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, plus Florida - and Frisch accepted, becoming Big Boy's first franchisee.
