Stan Stokes. In June 1921, Brigadier General Billy Mitchell, flying a Curtiss MB-2 bomber, sinks the German dreadnought Ostfriesland to demonstrate the effectiveness of air power. The U.S. Navy was infuriated by his success, so for his efforts, Mitchell was demoted to colonel. 16"x 11½" print is signed by the artist.
