Stan Stokes. The USAAF's first modern aircraft designed specifically as a night fighter, the P-61 Black Widow was initially delivered to Allied forces in 1944. It was the largest and most powerful fighter of World War II, also responsible for the final U.S. aerial victory on August 14, 1945. This print depicts a Black Widow piloted by Major Carroll C.
