About the F-35B Lightning II

The F-35B is the short-takeoff/vertical-landing (STOVL) variant of the F-35 Lightning II, developed primarily for the U.S. Marine Corps. It is powered by the Pratt & Whitney F135 engine paired with a lift fan and swiveling exhaust nozzle, allowing it to operate from short runways or amphibious assault ships and land vertically.
