About the F-4 Phantom II
Developed by McDonnell Aircraft, the twin-engine F-4 Phantom II was a long-range supersonic interceptor and fighter-bomber flown by the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps from the 1960s, capable of exceeding Mach 2.2. It served in air-superiority, ground-attack and reconnaissance roles during the Vietnam War era and remains in limited service with several air forces worldwide.
