About the F-5E Tiger II

Entering service in the early 1970s, the single-seat F-5E Tiger II was designed by Northrop as a low-cost, lightweight fighter powered by twin J85-GE-21 turbojet engines. Its small size and high maneuverability have made it a mainstay of U.S. adversary and aggressor training squadrons, where it simulates enemy fighters in dissimilar air combat training.
