About the F-94 Starfire
Developed from the T-33 trainer and entering service in 1950, the F-94 was designed to defend North American airspace against Soviet bombers in any weather, using an afterburning Allison J33 turbojet and onboard radar to intercept targets. Early F-94A/B variants carried machine guns, while the F-94C replaced them with unguided rockets mounted in the nose and wing pods.
