About the F/A-18C Hornet

Developed by McDonnell Douglas in the 1980s for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, the carrier-capable F/A-18C performs both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. Powered by two General Electric F404 engines with a top speed over Mach 1.8, it carries a mix of missiles, bombs and rockets along with an M61 Vulcan cannon, and has flown in conflicts including the Gulf War.
