About the F6F Hellcat
The Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat was introduced in 1943 to replace the older F4F Wildcat and remained in service through the end of World War II, becoming a key fighter in the Pacific War. Designed to counter the Japanese Zero, it was powered by a 2,000-horsepower Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engine and armed with six 12.7mm Browning machine guns, proving effective in both air superiority and ground-attack missions.
