About the H-25 Army Mule
The H-25 Army Mule was the U.S. Army version of the Piasecki HUP Retriever, a compact twin overlapping tandem-rotor helicopter developed for the Navy in the late 1940s. Seventy H-25As were delivered to the Army beginning in 1953, though most were later transferred to the Navy or used for training after proving unsuited to front-line duty.
