About the Book
Both vehicles were built on obsolete light-tank chassis fitted with larger guns: Germany converted the PzKpfw 38(t) into the open-topped Marder III and then the fully enclosed Hetzer, while the Soviet Union turned the T-70 light tank into the open-topped SU-76M infantry support gun. Both types saw heavy action as Soviet forces advanced into Hungary and Axis forces mounted Operation Spring Awakening, their final major counteroffensive on the Eastern Front.
