Introduced in 1915 the JN-4 — one of the many aircraft in the JN series produced by Curtiss and nicknamed the Jenny — was a biplane trainer that remained extremely influential in the interwar period. It was instrumental in the 1920s civil aviation boom as many surplus Jennys were sold to private owners.
