The Louisiana Tigers were a group of fierce Confederate soldiers known for their distinctive style and aggressive fighting during the American Civil War. Originally formed from New Orleans volunteers, they gained a reputation for bravery as well as unruly behavior in camp. Wearing colorful uniforms, including the famous "zouave" style, they stood out among Confederate ranks. The Tigers fought in major campaigns with the Army of Northern Virginia under Stonewall Jackson, earning praise for their battlefield performance. Despite heavy losses, they remained a symbol of toughness and determination, leaving a lasting mark on Civil War history.
