About the M18 Hellcat
Designed with minimal armor to maximize speed, the M18 Hellcat reached speeds over 50 mph, making it faster than any other tracked armored fighting vehicle fielded during World War II. Its 76mm gun and open turret allowed crews to use the vehicle's agility to flank enemy tanks and strike their more vulnerable side and rear armor.
