Simply nicknamed because of a British soldier's passing remark, "She's a honey," the M3 Stuart tank was originally on lend-lease from the U.S. to the Allies prior to American entrance into the war. Produced in staggering numbers from 1941-1945, the Stuart was the first American-manned tank to engage in tank-to-tank combat. Due to a war surplus, the Stuarts remained in usage in various nations around the world until 1996.
