About the Me 323 Gigant
Developed from a glider design to meet the Luftwaffe's need to move troops and materials over long supply lines, the six-engine Me 323 could carry more than 120 men along with supplies, artillery pieces and light vehicles, though its large size limited its top speed to only slightly more than 240 km/h (150 mph).
