Introduced in August of 1943, the P-38J Lightning had an improved engine design that made it distinguishable from its predecessors. Its updated core-type intercooler lowered intake temperatures and allowed an increase in rated power. Later variants were fitted with 55-gallon fuel tanks on its outer wing. This 1/110 scale, die cast model features authentic markings of a P-38J "23 Skidoo," spinning propellers, a glazed canopy, and a display stand. 5½" wingspan.
