The P-38 Lightning, introduced in the summer of 1941, was a twin-boom fighter nicknamed the "Fork-Tailed Devil" by the Germans and "Two Planes, One Pilot" by the Japanese. Some of America's top aces flew the uniquely shaped aircraft, and more than 10,000 were manufactured during World War II.

Replicating a P-38L-5 flown by Major Elliot Summer — a 10-victory ace with the 475th Fighter Group — this 1/72 scale plastic model features the warplane's signature kill markings and nose art, engraved panel lines, a glazed canopy, a well-equipped cockpit, rotating propellers, wing-mounted drop tanks, extended landing gear, and a display stand. Measures approximately 6¼" long with an 8¾" wingspan.
