Stan Stokes. Ted Williams, the Hall of Fame baseball player, was a great pilot. After instructing in WWII, he was recalled to active duty for the Korean conflict and was assigned to an F9F Panther jet. On the mission shown here, Williams' Panther was hit, causing an engine fire. Rather than bailing out, he made a skidding crash landing at over 200 mph with no landing gear, escaping just as the plane burst into flames. This 16"x 11½" print is signed by the artist.
