About the Panzer III
Developed in the mid-1930s as the intended backbone of the Wehrmacht's armored battalions, the Panzer III was originally armed with a 37mm gun before later production, including the Ausf. J, adopted a more powerful 50mm cannon. It remained a core German tank on the battlefields of Europe through the early war years.
