A reconnaissance variant of the original A-5 nuclear strike bomber, the RA-5C Vigilante saw extensive service in the Vietnam War and was the largest and fastest aircraft ever to operate from an aircraft carrier. The RA-5C was the most common Vigilante model, representing 91 of the 156 manufactured. It was first flown in 1958, and, despite its impressive stature, suffered heavy losses in Vietnam and was ultimately retired in 1979.

This 1/72 scale, Hobby Master, die cast replica of an RA-5C flown by the RVAH-14 "Eagle Eyes" off the USS Independence in the 1970s features engraved panel lines, signature nose art, a sliding canopy, a removable pilot figure, a well-equipped cockpit including instrument panel, detailed turbojet engines, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a display stand. Measures approximately 12¾" long with an 8¾" wingspan.
