About the S-3B Viking

The S-3 Viking was a carrier-based jet built by Lockheed for the U.S. Navy, designed for anti-submarine warfare during the Cold War, with twin engines, a high-mounted wing, and advanced sensors for tracking enemy submarines. The upgraded S-3B added improved avionics, radar, and the ability to carry torpedoes, depth charges, and missiles, and the type was later adapted for surface surveillance and aerial refueling support before retiring from carrier service in the late 2000s.
