In 1944, the 126 Squadron received the Spitfire IX, which offered fighter escort for bombers in France. Squadron Leader Johnny Plagis flew a Spitfire IX "5J-K" ML214, and he scored four victories in July and August.

Featuring markings from the RAF No.126 Sqn., this 1/48 scale, Hobby Master, die cast model replicates the Spitfire Mk.Ixc as it was piloted by Squadron Leader Johnny Plagis in 1944. It includes a removable canopy, a well-equipped cockpit, a spinning propeller, realistic panel lines, access panels and surface details, landing gear, ordnance loads, a detailed underside, and a display stand. Measures 7¾" long with a 9¼" wingspan. Shipping January 2021.
