EdwardsIn 1942, Britain and America initiated Operation TORCH, the challenging invasion of French North African colonies of Morocco and Algeria. In order to transport 70,000 troops and equipment, 350 merchant ships were needed, and the strong need for protection led to the extraction of numerous escorts from the routine trade convoys. A trio of merchant ships, the RB 1, SC 107, and the SL 215 were left with little defense and were at sea with the TORCH convoys. There is no evidence to say that RB 1, SC 107, and SL 125 were sacrificed to keep the TORCH convoys safe, but this book analyzes the truth behind the rumors. 224 pages, 6"x 9", hardcover. #102760 $34.95
