Forsgren. This title tells the story of the first American-designed production fighter. Designed during the Great War, it first flew in February 1919, after the Armistice. From 1922 and 1925, the MB-3A was the mainstay fighter for the United States Army Air Service. In 1927 it starred in 'Wings,' the first movie to win an Oscar for Best Picture. Historian Jan Forsgren combines authoritative text with photos, scale drawings, and color profiles to bring this fighter back into flight. 86 pages, 131 B&W and color images, 8½"x 11", softcover.
