This second volume covers the larger LCT, LSM, and LST vessels that hauled tanks and heavy equipment to the shores of North Africa and Normandy and throughout the Pacific. In 1940, the U.S. Army expected they would need an extensive amount of landing craft for the massive number of soldiers and equipment, and the U.S. started a building campaign to manufacture these seagoing craft, mostly turning to shipyards and manufacturers based along the American rivers. 128 pages, 188 color & b/w photos, 9"x 9", hardcover.
