Laid down in September of 1931, the USS San Francisco (CA-38) was a New Orleans-class heavy cruiser that saw extensive service during the Second World War, earning an impressive 17 battle stars. She, like most of her sister ships, featured prominently in the Guadalcanal campaign during which she was heavily damaged and her captain and admiral killed. The San Francisco, however, survived the war and was decommissioned the following year, in 1946.

This 1/350 scale plastic kit — a replica of the historic ship as she appeared in the final years of World War II — features an option to build the full or waterline versions, a highly detailed superstructure and bridge board, realistic surface weapons, a main deck with engraved planking, boats and rafts, cranes, catapults, two clear-molded SOC Seagull aircraft, and a color painting guide. Assembly required. 436 pieces. Skill level 3. Measures approximately 20¼" long.
