About the Book
Written by Finnish aviation historian Kari Stenman, the book covers the Winter War of 1939-40, in which Finland's roughly 114 combat aircraft faced more than 2,300 Soviet aircraft. Outnumbered, the Finnish Air Force scattered its Fokker D.XXI interceptors to remote landing grounds and adopted guerrilla-style tactics, later supplementing its fleet with Gladiators, Fiat G.50s and French MS.406s as the conflict wore on.
