About the Talos missile
The Bendix Talos was a long-range surface-to-air missile developed by the U.S. Navy in the 1950s to defend fleet warships against high-altitude bombers, combining a solid-fuel booster with a ramjet sustainer for high-speed flight and using semi-active radar homing to reach its target. Deployed aboard Navy cruisers, it remained in service until the late 1970s.
