LardasEllington Field was one of 32 training airfields authorized by Congress in 1917. During WWI, it became one of the leading training fields in the U.S., reaching a peak of 250 aircraft and 5,000 troops. Follow the evolution of this field as it was used for aviation training during WWII and for combat training during the Cold War. It later became NASA's airfield for Johnson Space Center and then Houston's third municipal airport in 1984. 128 pages, 211 photos, 6 ½"x 9", softcover.
