About the F-111 Aardvark

Introduced in the late 1960s, the F-111 was built around variable-geometry "swing wings" and terrain-following radar that let its two-man crew fly automated low-level missions at supersonic speed. The 48th Tactical Fighter Wing flew F-111Fs from RAF Lakenheath, England, including strikes during the April 1986 raid on Libya and the 1991 Gulf War.
