In 1989, the 138th Tactical Fighter Squadron at New York ANG replaced their aging A-10As for the F-16A Fighting Falcon. While based in Saudi Arabia, in January 1991, the 174th Tactical Fighter Wing was assigned to the 4th TFW (Provisional) as close air support during Operation Desert Storm. Having served with the 138th TFW and put on display aboard the USS Intrepid in 1995, the F-16A was given the name "Spirit of Syracuse."

This 1/72 scale, die cast model is a Hobby Master hand-painted replica of an F-16A Fighting Falcon, as it appeared with the 174th TFW in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, features engraved panel lines, an opening canopy with a well-equipped cockpit, a removable pilot figure, optional-position landing gear, authentic pad-printed markings, and a display stand. 8¼" long.
