About the F-86 Sabre

First flown in October 1947, the F-86 Sabre was the United States' first swept-wing fighter and proved its worth on December 17, 1950, when Lt. Col. Bruce Hinton downed a MiG-15 in the first battle between swept-wing jets. Powered by a General Electric J47 turbojet with a top speed near 685 mph, Sabres are credited with nearly 800 MiG-15 kills over Korea against fewer than 80 losses.

    F-86 Sabre

Am old enough to be alive when these jets flew. Always have felt they were the most beautiful of fighter jets. They had a 13-1 kill ratio in the Korean War for a reason. This model has the decals and markings of the Korean War era. This model is as beautiful as the real one, well made, for a fair price. And no messy glue, off center decal application, or 'kit' mistakes. Thank you "Historic Aviation"!
