About the Hs 126
A low-wing, two-seat monoplane powered by a 600-horsepower radial engine, the Henschel Hs 126 entered Luftwaffe service in the late 1930s as an army-cooperation reconnaissance aircraft, equipped with cameras and able to carry light bombs for ground attack. It flew forward reconnaissance missions during the early campaigns of World War II before being progressively replaced by the Focke-Wulf Fw 189.
