About the Su-27 Flanker
Developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau in the late 1970s, the twin-engine Su-27 is a long-range air-superiority fighter capable of speeds over Mach 2.3, armed with a 30mm cannon and a range of air-to-air missiles. "Peace Mission" is the name given to a series of joint anti-terrorism exercises held under the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, in which China's PLAAF Su-27s have taken part alongside forces from Russia and other member states.
