Captain Dale Heath (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) is flying a navy jet with an enlisted man (Troy Donahue) on board. The plane has already taken off when Heath notices that both his radio and his navigation equipment have glitches, and he can't communicate to ground control to get a fix. Meanwhile, flying in the opposite direction on the same course, is a DC-7 commercial airliner flown by Dick Barnett (Dana Andrews) with a full load of passengers. 1hr. 45min.
